Sondrel Invests in Verification Services
Sondrel is pleased to welcome Paul Martin who joins us as Director of Engineering responsible for Front-End Design Consulting. Verification engineering is a rapidly expanding business area for Sondrel across Europe, but even more so in China, and Paul’s depth of experience in this area will take our consultancy services to a new level. Prior to joining us Paul led the (Front End) Design Enablement program for ARM and prior to that had 10 years leading design methodology, IP and design services at NXP.
Since his appointment as a Sondrel Engineering Director, Paul and has very rapidly progressed the company’s verification capabilities by establishing a new design services team in Rabat (Morocco) formed from experienced ex ST Micro engineers. This links to Sondrel’s recent announcement regarding the opening of its fifth offshore design centre. In addition, the opening of the new design centre in Xi’an has allowed for the expansion of the engineering team and customer base in China, with Sondrel’s revenue for verification engineering consultancy doubling in the time Paul has been on-board.
Paul aims to build a global front end engineering capability working from Sondrel design centres in Europe, Morocco and China, and spanning design, functional verification & debug, formal methods, power integrity verification and verification environment consulting.
Paul says, “I am very happy to be working with Sondrel and pleased to have the opportunity of building our business in the front end design space. I am particularly excited about bringing the full suite of advanced verification consulting services to the Chinese market. As the semiconductor market in this region goes through a significant growth phase the high end skills that Sondrel can deliver to local companies will help them achieve the sought after “shift-left” in verification, debugging designs faster and achieving improvements in time to market, with higher quality for their products.”
“It is a sign of the growth and ambition of Sondrel,”' added VP Engineering Kevin Steptoe, “that it can attract Engineering Directors of the calibre of Paul. Already, in the last few months he has made a strong impact, and we will be making further investments in 2016 to support the growth of our verification activity.”
